The young Italian Brazilian lirico spinto tenor Thiago Arancam, started his studies at the “Municipal School of Music” of Sao Paulo, then at the Musical University “Carlos Gomes”, where he graduated in “Erudite Chant” in 2003, and prepared his repertory with M° Buno Roccella. At the age of only 22, he won the prestigious “Prêmio Revelação” do V Concurso Internacional de Canto Erudito Bidu Sayão.
In October 2004, he was invited to attend the “Accademia delle Arti e dei Mestieri” associated with the world-famous “Teatro alla Scala” in Milan, Italy. He is the first-ever Brasilian to be taken into the famous “Accademia”, directed by soprano Leyla Gencer. It is there that he met his present voice teacher, M° Vincenzo Manno. He debuted in lyric concert at “Teatro Alla Scala” on February 27th, 2005. Afterwards he kept on singing in many concerts arias from many different operas, like Tosca, Luisa Miller, Madama Butterfly, Le Cid, and he also took part in the production of several operas.
In 2007 he participated in some concerts with the Orchestra Sinfonica of the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, singing Zarzuela arias and classical Spanish songs and in December he debuted in the first Puccini’s opera, “Le Villi”, (Roberto). He received, in Bolzano, the prestigious award for the best emergent young voice 2007/2008 “Premio Alto Adige - Talento emergente della lirica 2007/2008”.
In 2008, he participated in a tournee in the United Arab Emirates, with the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala and in two concerts with the Orchestra Camerata Brasil of Brasilia, conducted by M° Silvio Barbato. He debuted the role of Don Josè (Carmen) at the Washington National Opera - Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, conducted by M.° Rudel. He won three prizes at Operalia 2008: ZARZUELA PRIZE, AUDIENCE PRIZE and SECOND OPERA PRIZE.
In 2009 he debuted Cavaradossi (Tosca) in Frankfurt, Maurizio (Adriana Lecouvreur) in Turin, Radames (Aida) at Sanxay Lyric Festival (France), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) in Valencia. He sung a recital in London at St.John’s (Rosenblatt Recitals) and two concerts of Carmen in Kuala Lumpur with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2010 he debuted Nabucco (Palermo), Cavalleria Rusticana (St. Petersburg,) Il Tabarro (Riga), Norma (Sanxay), Cyrano (San Francisco) and he performed Tosca in Las Palmas and Carmen in Warsaw.
